Mixtapes and EPs, The Format With Freedom

The single sells and the album makes a statement, but the mixtape and the EP are where artists take their chances. Shorter, looser, less precious, they are the format that lets a musician show you who they are becoming.

Where risks pay off

Some of the most important music of the last twenty years arrived as a free mixtape or a five-track EP. Without the pressure of a lead single, artists experiment, and listeners get the first real look at a new direction.

New mixtapes and EPs gather here as they arrive, full projects worth your time.
